Your dashboard
Your dashboard shows what you have earned, how close you are to quota, and which deals count toward it. This guide walks through the page, then shows you how to open a payout, acknowledge your statement and raise a problem. It takes about five minutes.
The menu at the top of every page has Dashboard, Planner, Payouts, Settings and Help, plus a bell for notifications. If you manage people, your home page is different: see If you're a manager below.
Pick a month
The page opens on the current month, headed My Commission. Next to the heading is a badge:
| Badge | What it means |
|---|---|
| Draft — subject to change | Your admin hasn't published this month yet. The figures are an estimate from the deals and settings in Earnest today, and they can still change. |
| Finalized | This month has been published. You see the final figures from your payout, and they won't change. |
To look at another month:
- Click the month picker at the top right.
- Choose a month. You can pick any month in which you held a position, up to five years back.
- To recalculate the month you're viewing, click the Refresh button (the circular arrow). The page doesn't update on its own.
Read the two headline cards
| Card | What it shows |
|---|---|
| September Earnings (named after the month you picked) | The commission you've earned for the period. The line under it shows the revenue it comes from, for example "From $84,000 revenue". On a quarterly plan the card reads Q3 2026 Earnings. |
| % to Quota | How much of your quota you've reached. Under it, Effective Quota is the target for this period after any ramp or part-month adjustment. A Ramp or Prorated badge appears when one of those applies. |
Amounts are in your quota currency, the currency your target is set in. If you're paid in another currency, your statement shows the conversion.
If your plan, pay or team changed during the month, a banner at the top says what changed and when. A plan change also adds a Plan Breakdown table with one row per plan.
Check your deals
Under the cards, Recent Deals lists every deal credited to you in the period (on a plan that counts something else, such as meetings, the heading uses that name). Columns:
- Ref #, Booking Date, Amount and Currency for each deal.
- Your share, if you share credit on a deal with someone else.
- Paid under, if your plan changed during the month. It names the plan that paid that deal.
Understand the math
The Commission Breakdown section explains the number on the earnings card:
- Your Compensation Plan shows your plan, your rate and your quota.
- Commission Math shows the steps: base commission up to quota, accelerator commission above it, any bonus, and a line if a cap or floor changed the total. It ends with Total Commission.
- Upcoming Adjustments lists this month's pending and approved adjustments.
- Adjustment History lists every adjustment to your pay, including rejected ones.
The Plan your earnings card links to the earnings planner through Open Planner →.
Open a payout
- Click Payouts in the top menu. My Payouts lists every published payout, newest first, with its Gross Earnings and Final Payout. Months that haven't been published don't appear here.
- Click a payout to open it. The page shows Gross Earnings, Adjustments and Final Payout, then How this payout was calculated, the Activities included, and any adjustments.
- Click Download Statement to save the PDF. See Reading your commission statement for what each section means.
A Correction posted note means a fix to that period was added to a later statement. A Recoverable balance note means a past overpayment is being taken from your earnings; you are never asked to pay cash back.
Acknowledge a statement
Acknowledging tells your company you've seen the statement.
- Open the payout from Payouts.
- Click Acknowledge statement.
- The button changes to "Acknowledged on Oct 3, 2026" (with that day's date).
You can't undo it, and it doesn't stop you raising a problem later.
Raise a problem with a payout
You can file a dispute only if your company has turned disputes on. If you don't see the button, talk to your manager or comp admin instead.
- Open the published payout from Payouts.
- Click Dispute This Payout.
- In Reason for Dispute, describe what looks wrong, between 10 and 1,000 characters. Name the deal if you can.
- Click Submit Dispute.
Your admins get an email. The payout shows a Disputed badge, then Under Review once an admin picks it up. When it's decided you get an email and a bell notification, and the badge changes to Dispute Resolved or Dispute Rejected. Money you're owed is added to a later statement as a correction; the disputed statement itself never changes.
You have 60 days from the first day of the period, unless your company set a different limit. For a quarterly payout, the clock starts on the first day of the quarter's last month. Each payout can have one open dispute at a time.
Notifications and Settings
The bell at the top shows notices about your pay: a statement published, a dispute decided, an adjustment approved, and changes to your plan or position. Click Mark all read to clear the count.
Click Settings in the top menu to choose your Notification emails (Payout statements, Adjustments, Plan changes) and change your password. The switches only control email. The bell notice is always delivered for a change to your plan, pay, quota, team or manager, and also when your team moves to a different plan or a team plan mix starts or ends for you (those are in-app only). Your company can also turn some emails off for everyone, so a switch that's on doesn't guarantee the email.
If you're a manager
Managers land on the Team Dashboard instead of My Commission. Your own figures for the picked month and your payout history are on its My Payouts tab, and the top-menu Payouts page lists your own published payouts as it does for a rep. Everything about your team is covered in The manager's guide.
Check it worked
- After you acknowledge, the payout page shows "Acknowledged on" and a date.
- After you file a dispute, you see "Dispute submitted successfully" and the payout shows a Disputed badge.
Common problems
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Your comp plan isn't set up yet" | Your admin hasn't finished your plan or quota. Ask them to set it up. |
| "This period is being reworked" | Your position changed mid-period in a way that can't be split. Your admin needs to move the change date. Other months still work from the month picker. |
| "Couldn't load October 2026. The figures below are still for the month you were viewing." | Click Try again. |
| The figures changed since yesterday | The month isn't published yet, so new deals or changes still update it. |
| No Dispute This Payout button | Disputes are off at your company, the payout already has an open dispute, or the window has closed. A closed window shows "The 60-day window to dispute this statement closed on" a date. Contact your comp admin. |
| A deal is missing | Check that its booking date is in the month you picked. If it is, ask your admin whether it was credited to you. |
